Electrical Maintenance Technician
Our client, a high profile engineering and manufacturing company, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technician to joint their team, on the south side of Aberdeen on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will be a time served Electrician with their 18th Edition qualification. Experience in a factory/FMCG setting would be advantageous for this role.
The successful candidate will carry out Preventative/Reactive Maintenance and Installation of the Plant's Electrical equipment, in a safe and competent manner in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Key duties and responsibilities
·Carry out Fixed and Portable appliance testing.
·Carry out breakdown response including fault finding
·General Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
·Construct control panels.
·Minimisation of Production Down Time.
·Record maintenance work carried out.
·Assist Mechanical and Fabrication Engineers when required.
Experience & Skills
Required:
·Knowledge of 3PH/1PH motor controls.
·Ability to fault find using drawings and schematics.
·Ability to work with most forms of cable and wiring mediums.Flexible with regard to working hours.
·Ability to work at heights from work platforms and scaffolds.
·Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with written and spoken English.
·PC literate.
·Health and Safety awareness
·Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
·Previous Electrical Maintenance within a Factory Production environment.
·Control panel construction.
·Repair knowledge of hand tools and equipment.
·Ability to work on own initiative and within a team.
·PLC knowledge and understanding.
·Clean UK driving licence.
Hours of Work:
There are 3 shifts worked on a rota basis, applicants must be happy to work on each of the shifts:
Day shift: 0600 - 1415
Back shift: 1400 - 2215
Night shift: 2200 - 0615
