Our well established client based in Aberdeen are looking to recruit a Transport Operator/Planner on a permanent basis.

The Traffic Operator & Planner role is to ensure customers requirements are met through efficient use of own fleet and available sub-contractors.

Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will be expected to be able to work within a small team during high pressure periods ensuring the company meets the demands of the customer and being able to work under your own initiative to ensure the roles routine tasks are completed on time.

You will be responsible for cost effective planning and keeping maintenance, agency & subcontractor costs down, making sure all relevant jobs have Purchase Order numbers and being priced in a timely manner and for raising Purchase Order Numbers for Agency, Subcontractors and Maintenance providers and approving the invoice when received.

Duties include;
- Ensuring own fleet is maintained in line with all VOSA regulations and Operator Licence requirements.
- Regulating drivers hours and actioning tachograph infringements
- Ensuring driver’s licence documentation is regulated and in line with requirements
- Ensuring daily planning of company vehicles is done efficiently and cost affectively and monitoring subcontractor costs.
- Monitoring vehicles and driver performance through live tracking system
- Ensuring drivers have correct customer paperwork for all jobs and checking paperwork has been completed correctly
- Liaising with customers via email & phone

The ideal candidate will have previous experience planning all types of vehicles from Transit to Arctic Wide Loads as well as knowledge of Transport Legislation.

Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competency (CPC)
Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG)
